IT IS TUESDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2022.

IT IS 6:00 PM.

UH, I'M GOING TO CALL THE ORDER AND ANNOUNCE THAT A CITY COUNCIL IS, UH, HAS A QUORUM AND IN FACT IS A HUNDRED PERCENT HERE.

AND, UH, SO IS P AND Z.

WITH THAT, WE WILL CONDUCT A GUM MOVING GUIDE AND BE CONDUCTED PUBLIC HEARING FORD CITY, MEADOWS, PLACE, CITY COUNCIL, LAND PLANNING, AND ZONING COMMISSION ON A METAL PLACE CODE OF ORDINANCE CHAPTER 1 53, SECTIONS 1 5, 3 0.016 DEFINITIONS AND 1 5, 3 0.073 A OFF STREET, PARKING LOADING SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO GARAGES.

SO WE ARE ON ITEM B.

DO WE HAVE, UH, AND THIS IS TO DISCUSS GARAGES IN CITY MEADOWS PLACE.

AT THIS POINT, THERE'S A, A LOT OF DIFFERENT THOUGHTS, A LOT OF DIFFERENT THINGS, WAYS TO GO, BUT WE ARE HERE TO TAKE QUESTIONS, COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC AND OUR AUDIENCE.

AND THE TOPIC IS WHAT ABOUT GARAGES? RIGHT? LOOKING TO CHANGE THE ORDINANCE? THAT'S CORRECT.

WELL KNOW THAT THERE'S A LOT OF CITIES IN MUDDLES PLACE RIGHT NOW THAT DO NOT HAVE GARAGES, EVEN THOUGH THE PLANNING AND ZONING SPECIFIES THAT THERE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ONE OR TWO OR WHATEVER.

AND, UH, I KNOW WE'VE GOT SOME MINIMUM SQUARE FOOTAGE AND BUILDING CODES AND THAT SORT OF STUFF.

WE CERTAINLY WANT TO MAINTAIN THE, UH, UH, HEART POSTURE, THE MUDDLE SPLICE AND, AND MAKE SURE IT'S A PLACE PEOPLE WANT TO MOVE, MOVE TO.

UH, BUT SINCE THERE'S A LOT OF THEM THAT DON'T HAVE GARAGES NOW.

AND, UH, I THINK IT'S A, I GUESS THERE'S PROS AND CONS.

I DON'T SEE A NEED HAVING TO SPECIFY GARAGE AT THE SAME TIME.

THE HOUSE ITSELF WOULD HAVE MUCH BETTER RESALE CAPABILITY IF IT HAD A GARAGE.

SO THOSE THINGS HAVE TO BE CONSIDERED TOO.

BUT AT THE SAME TIME, WE'VE GOT HOUSES THAT DO NOT HAVE GARAGES, AND I'M NOT SURE IT'S SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE MANDATORY OR REQUIRED, BUT AT ANY RATE, THAT'S KIND OF MY POSITION ON IT.

UH, I KNOW IT'S GOING TO BE TOUGH FOR, YOU KNOW, PLANNING AND ZONING BECAUSE YOU KNOW, IT'S NOT A, NOT AN EASY TASK.

AND WHAT DO YOU DO UNDER THE CONCERNS? CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES, ANYBODY THAT DONE? I HAVE A GARAGE NOW CERTAINLY GRANDFATHERED IN, BUT, UH, DO YOU WANT TO FORCE PEOPLE TO HAVE A GARAGE WHERE THEY WONDER NOT THERE'S HOUSES IN RIVER OAKS THAT DON'T HAVE GARAGES.

OKAY.

AND A LOT OF THEM HAVE A, A DRIVE-THROUGH OR A, I WOULD CALL IT LIKE A CARPORT OR SOMETHING YOU'D DRIVE THROUGH AND IT'S, YOU DON'T COVER IT, BUT IT'S NOT A GARAGE.

SO ANYWAY, THAT'S JUST A COMMENT.

AND TERRY, TO CLARIFY, SORRY TO CLARIFY.

THE CURRENT ORDINANCE REQUIRES A GARAGE.

WHAT WE'RE CONSIDERING IS TO LOOSEN THAT UP, CORRECT? TO NOT HAVE NO, CHRIS IS FINE.

THAT WOULD BE MY APPROACH.

YEAH.

BOTH THE UNDERSTANDING THAT IF YOU DON'T HAVE A GARAGE AT A HOUSE, IT MIGHT AFFECT YOUR RESALE PRICING.

SO, AND AS AN INDIVIDUAL, UH, IT SHOULD BE LEFT UP TO HIM WHAT HE WANTS TO DO.

SO UNDERSTAND WHERE HE COMING FROM, RICK AND, YOU KNOW, THAT'S MY POSITION.

I AGREE THAT IT NEEDS TO BE LOOSENED UP A LITTLE BIT.
